Evie cut my hair last week for the second time ever, and I got a day return to Norwich on the hottest day of the year. By the time I got home I had taken six trains, made four changes, suffered delays..., broken air-conditioning etc... Why put myself through this hell? Well it's because I had a drastic change of hairstyle in 2024 - thanks to medical treatment I went from longer hair for many years to a crop. I also stopped colouring it and embraced life as a silver fox. I now love having short hair. The first cut Evie did was the best one I'd had since my hair went short, despite it being the first time she had ever cut my hair. Was the journey this time worth it? YES!! I have been visiting Flint sinc...e they were in their previous location on St Benedicts; having my hair cut and coloured by Katie (who manages her own diary). The salon is so naturally stylish, airy, entirely unpretentious and welcoming. All the staff from reception, to the salon juniors, are always a delight and it's a real treat to spend time here. There’s a lot of lovely attention to detail in the whole process,...plus it’s a gorgeous building with lots of art. There are stairs to get to the upper floors but I’m sure you can request to be downstairs if you have reduced mobility. read more

I wouldn't go anywhere else.

After almost thirty years with the same stylist, and a too short, post lock down haircut, I thought it was time for a change. So with some trepidation I booked an appoitnment with Connor at Flint. Fro...m the moment Tris swept me into the salon (even more warm and effusive in person than he is on the phone) I knew I had made the right decision. The atmosphere at the salon is welcoming and the building stunning. Connor took time to talk to me and to get a feel for my hair and my style goals, putting me at ease. Then followed an exquisite hair wash in a chair that didn't make my neck ache by a lovely young woman who's name I didn't catch. As Connor cut my hair he consider the way in which my hair falls, working with it rather than forcing change upon it. I felt as though each cut was thought threw and the style shaped as a whole rather than section by section. The outcome? Well, I'm thrilled!! Small changes have lifted my hair from something adequate to a style that just swings into place, even after a restless night's sleep. It flatters by face, opens up my features and even the colour (I'm growing that out too) looks better. To say that Connor exceeded my expectations is not an exageration and I'm already looking forward to my next visit in December. Thank you Flint! read more

Got my hair cut by Rachel C today and it's been a fantastic experience! Everyone in the salon was super welcoming and inviting from the get go, and I appreciated Rachel's friendly and considerate cons...ultation. She checked in several times with me before cutting off any considerable length of hair and delivered a super lovely haircut based on my vague descriptions and reference pictures ☺️ I felt really well looked after, enjoyed the care she put into drying my hair nicely afterwards and giving it some shape. Hope was so incredibly lovely and made me feel at ease straight away! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience getting my hair done. I had my hair dyed with them, and they talked me through the p...rocess at each step and always made sure I was comfortable. They even offered to trim my hair at the end to make sure it was just how I like it. I’m autistic which makes me shy and quiet, so I always get nervous about things like hair appointments because I’m worried that I’ll come across rude or awkward, but I never felt like there was any awkwardness between us, and I didn’t feel any pressure to engage in small talk during the appointment. They allowed my partner to come and sit with me which was nice too. I love my hair and I can’t thank Hope enough for the time they offered and their attentiveness and care!! I came in as I'm a chef and had recently signed my maine. Went in for a neaten up (I know stylists hate that term) but they were very understanding and accommodating. One of the owners even went out o...f their way to go through how to approach my scalp, my hairline and how it grows annnnnd how that can be worked with to solve my recent monstrosity. Highly approved, beautiful interior with some great works by a photographer who had documented Glastonbury for nearly 30 years, particularly love the figure with the wicker man in the background. Sarah was great, and managed to give me a full head of highlights in one session (very long and thick hair). The bleach was on for a few hours so there was a little bit of breakage underneath but way...less than I'd expect from bleaching. Love that the salon goes for more eco-friendly options when it comes to haircare and recycling and there is a reason the wait list is long! read more

Lovely people, great place for a haircut

Had my hair cut by apprentice Evie today and WOW. I hate having my hair cut and often result to hacking at it myself but I thought I’d bite the bullet and get it done. From start to finish Evie was a...dream, being an apprentice I was apprehensive but I was thrilled with the results. I haven’t had such a good experience even with fully qualified hairdressers. It’s always a pleasure to visit here and get my hair done. The staff are lovely and very professional. The products used are non damaging and of a high quality.
